In 2012 Mattel launched a series of computer animated shorts called Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse, featuring all of the classic Barbie dolls.
One of these was Midge, who used to be Barbies best friend in the sixties, but had largely disappeared from view after 1967.
In 2013 two versions of Midge were released as part of the "Life in the Dreamhouse" series of dolls: one separately (Y7442) and one in a gift set together with Barbie (Y7448).
Mine was part of the Y7448 gift set.
For Dreamhouse Midge the 1971 Midge/Steffie face sculpt was brought out of retirement and put on a larger head, the copyright notice on the neck still reads 1971.
Long red hair, big blue eyes and freckles make this a really cute face, on top of that most of the Dreamhouse dolls came with rooted eye lashes, including Midge, which enhances the looks even further.
The resulting face reminds me a bit of lovely red-haired fashion model Madeline Ford so I named her Madeline.
